Defined as the practice of raising money from a large number of people, typically via the internet, crowdfunding has become an essential feature in the lives of those experiencing unaffordable health care costs. Today’s social media is teeming with video footage of young people seeking financial support to afford treatment for life threatening conditions such as cancer and motor neuron disease. All use crowdfunding platforms as a collection point for those wishing to contribute to their cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Crowdfunding platforms are private companies providing a central point for donors to send funds. The platform typically takes a percentage of donations before forwarding the rest to the allocated bank account of the recipient.\u00a0 There are at least 75 such platforms in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two of the best known crowdfunding platforms used in New Zealand are GiveALittle and GoFundMe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Headquartered in Auckland with eight staff, GiveALittle was founded in 2008 and acquired by Perpetual Guardian in 2020. With assets worth $4 billion, Perpetual Guardian describe themselves as New Zealand’s premier provider of estate planning services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
GiveALittle take a service fee of 5% of all donations, which is reduced to an average 2% cost to recipients due to most donors adding the service fee to the amount of their donation. Since 2008 they have taken a total of $361.2 million in donations, suggesting total company earnings of over $18 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also founded in 2008, GoFundMe was rebranded in 2010 and became the world’s largest crowdfunding platform in 2017. The company takes 2.9% + 0.30c per donation. More than $50 million is raised each week, suggesting total company earnings of more than $1.45 million per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Impersonating Crowdfunders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
It is no secret that crowdfunding is big business. Whilst serving a useful purpose, these platforms are yet another beneficiary in the pandemic business model that oversees harm and impoverishment for profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It should come as no surprise to anyone who understands the corruption of the pandemic industry, that an explosion in crowdfund platform impersonators is being seen on social media. The scam is very simple, and very easy to detect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Imposters create a webpage that looks similar to any other crowdfunding platform, with a logo, an endearing or official-sounding name, and all of the appropriate buttons (Home, About Us, Contact Us, FAQ and Donate). They add the stolen photographs, video footage and edited profile of genuine fundraisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The page appears entirely genuine and often tens of thousands of dollars have been raised by unsuspecting donors. The only button that works on these fraudulent sites is the “DONATE” button. All other buttons lead to nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We suggest that this is an inevitable evolution in a culture that is steeped in fraud and crime. It is only natural that the next step would be to divert funds from their cause, abusing the empathy of decent people, in order to acquire ill-gotten gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please be careful where you channel any financial contributions during our burgeoning health crisis. Explore any webpage posing as a crowdfunder. Do all of the buttons work? For example is there a Home Page? Is there an About Us page? Are there FAQs to read? Can you find what percentage of your donation will go to the platform vs how much will be sent to the actual cause? Is there a way to contact the website owners? Or is the only working website feature a Donate button likely leading to the private bank account of someone committing fraud?<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are ways to donate directly to the vaccine injured, bypassing all crowdfunding sources by making contact through those who support them such as our own NZDHHC Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n The covid era has exposed a litany of organised crime within the systems that most of us once trusted as being grounded in legitimacy and integrity. None more so than the structures that our health care and research systems are built upon. Here, we take a look at the patents system being used by corporate executives, public officials and the “experts” they finance, to exploit and commoditise humanity (as well as the animal and plant kingdoms).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The patents system ensures legal protection for a limited term<\/a> to the person or group who created a new invention or discovered new knowledge. A patented invention can only be produced, used or sold, by its inventor(s) for the term of the patent. In exchange for these exclusive rights, the inventor(s) must share the technical information about their invention for the public to learn from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Patents are regulated in various ways including via the World Intellectual Property Organization<\/a> (a specialised agency of the United Nations<\/a>), who administer a number of relevant treaties<\/a>. Most nations also have patent laws and agencies such as the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naturally occurring phenomena are discovered rather than invented, which excludes them from patent eligibility<\/a> unless they have been modified. Pathogens which have been genetically engineered to be different than their natural origin are an example of patent-eligible products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Patents can be searched for at a number of sites such as Justia Patents<\/a> and Google Patents<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr David Martin has been tracking and monitoring violations of international conventions on biologic and chemical weapons research and manufacturing for three decades. In this detailed 2021 interview<\/a> with James Patrick at Planet Lockdown, Dr Martin explains the corruption of the patents system and the evidence that the patents system provided, of SARS-CoV-2 having been altered in a laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr Martin explains that the patents system hides, in plain sight, a lot of intellectual property theft and misappropriations of technology. This is especially prominent in the area of biological and chemical weapons, toxins and ammunitions. “People are proud of the fact they could get patents on things which probably should never have been the subject of research let alone commercial controls and market manipulations<\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In a detailed analysis of patent filings Dr Martin found that at least 80% of patents issued to large pharmaceutical companies are initially rejected for not conforming to patent law. The rejections are often overridden by back-room deals without the product meeting legal or statutory requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As an example, Spikevax manufacturer Moderna recently settled a patent dispute<\/a> with US$950 million paid to two biotech firms who alleged that Spikevax infringed their lipid nanoparticle patents. This may help to explain how a company who had never brought a product to market<\/a> until the golden egg of Spikevax, was able to pivot into one of the most successful corporations in human history<\/a>.
