Noone is ever held to account in New Zealand anymore.
Maybe once but not anymore, MP or not.
Prediction: the current Royal Commission now largely understands what has been going on, at least in New Zealand (although I’m not sure they fully understand the outright EVIL that we have all witnessed playing havoc with the entire world over the last five years). But although they do have the teeth, I infer that this Royal Commission do not entirely have the stomach. They are mostly members of the judicial system and THAT has been completely compromised, too. So at least one of the Commissioners wants to keep his job and the others want to keep their “reputations” more than they want to do justice. I hope with all my heart that they will prove me wrong about that. But let’s see….
