Methods

Hundreds attended the speaker sessions both in-person and online in Auckland – 28 September 2024

Both conferences revealed insights into the weapons our governments and medical profession used against the people, sparking dynamic discussions on the transformation of healthcare and societal discourse.

Professor Angus Dalgleish’s Talk

Professor Angus Dalgleish, renowned expert in oncology and infectious diseases, speaks at NZDSOS Conference – 28 September 2024

“Our government claimed, ‘We’re just following the science,’ yet they didn’t even understand what the science was.”

– Professor Angus Dalgleish

Known for his pioneering work in cancer immunotherapy, Professor Angus Dalgleish has spent the last four years engaged in a different kind of battle—one against what he described as the mismanagement of the c-19 pandemic and the subsequent vaccination programmes.

“I presented this real science and nobody wanted to know,” he began, establishing the tone for discussions that would challenge prevailing narratives. Dalgleish, a distinguished oncologist and immunologist, recounted his extensive background, emphasising his authority in the field. “I’ve been a Principal of the Institute of Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy for over 25 years,” he continued, underscoring his expertise in vaccines and enhancement of innate immunity.

As he delved into the heart of his argument, Dalgleish was forthright in his criticisms. He lambasted the global response to the pandemic, particularly the lockdown measures, calling them “complete medical illiteracy.” He vividly described the repercussions of these decisions, especially for cancer patients who missed critical screenings and treatments.

But it was the vaccines that truly stirred his ire. “My title is COVID and the Lies They Told You—Especially About Vaccines,” he announced, a statement that resonated throughout the room. Dalgleish argued that the spike protein used in the covid shots had significant similarity to human proteins, which he claimed could lead to serious side effects. “It was guaranteed to cause serious side effects,” he asserted, citing issues like clotting disorders and autoimmune diseases.

He shared anecdotal evidence from his own practice, recounting how stable cancer patients began relapsing aggressively after receiving booster shots. “The only thing I could find out was they’d all been pressured by their GPs to have a booster vaccine,” he lamented, his voice tinged with frustration.

Dalgleish also touched on the broader implications of the vaccine rollout, questioning the efficacy and safety of mRNA technologies. “Why are they using messenger RNA vaccines?” he asked, criticising their long-term stability and potential contamination issues.

Dr Paul Marik’s Message

Dr Paul Marik, renowned American physician and former professor of medicine, presenting in Auckland – 28 September 2024

“What we need to do is empower you and empower the population to take their health into their own hands because you can’t trust the healthcare system.”

– Dr Paul Marik

Dr Paul Marik continued the discussion about the absolute danger of the injections and captivated the audience with his practical health advice, advocating for lifestyle changes that empower individuals to manage their own health. “You can get the jab and drop dead immediately from anaphylactic shock. And according to their classification system, it’s not related to the vaccine—it’s just coincidental.”

“Half of the people in this auditorium are going to get cancer. That’s what the statistics show. If you look at patients with cancer, almost all of them have subnormal levels of vitamin D… So it’s really important, even if you do get adequate sunshine, to make sure that you’re getting enough vitamin D,” said Dr Marik.

“You can’t trust the healthcare system. There’s a lot that you can do to improve your own health, to prevent diabetes, to prevent cancer, to prevent Alzheimer’s disease. These are all preventable diseases.” By promoting whole foods and intermittent fasting, Dr Marik inspired many attendees to be proactive and take charge of their well-being.

“The healthcare system is not a healthcare system—it’s a sick care system,” he asserted, challenging conventional perspectives on healthcare. “What we need to do is empower you and empower the population to take their health into their own hands because you can’t trust the healthcare system.”

Motivation

The conference was driven by a profound motivation to challenge the status quo and advocate for truth and transparency in healthcare.

Dr Alison Goodwin & Dr Matt Shelton’s Advocacy

Drs Alison Goodwin and Matt Shelton, co-founders of NZDSOS share the experiences that led them to advocate for common sense health policy – 28 September 2024

“We know that the truth will prevail. It’s just how long it’s going to take to get there.”

– Dr Alison Goodwin

Dr Alison Goodwin and Dr Matt Shelton shared their experiences and insights on medical advocacy through the c-19 pandemic up to today. Their commentary highlighted the formation of New Zealand Doctors Speaking Out with Science (NZDSOS) and their ongoing legal battles, including a recent court case against the Medical Council. They emphasised the importance of discussion and debate in medical practice. “We need to keep speaking until there’s an army standing beside us,” Dr Goodwin urged, highlighting the importance of perseverance and collective effort.

“We want to create health. We don’t want just to manage disease, we want to create health, and we want the truth to be told.”

“We have to keep pushing, we have to keep talking, we have to keep holding people to account.”

– Dr Matt Shelton

Dr Matt Shelton followed, injecting a mix of humour and gravitas into his talk. He introduced himself as a concerned public citizen rather than a practicing doctor, emphasising his commitment to doing the right thing despite the personal and professional challenges.

Dr Shelton said, “We have to keep pushing, we have to keep talking, we have to keep holding people to account.”

“We don’t want to just be on the right side of history in the future when people look back. We need to be on the right side of history now, and we are making history happen.”

Katie Ashby-Koppens and the Law

Lawyer Katie Ashby-Koppens at NZDSOS Conference in Auckland – 28 September 2024

“I have been so disappointed by so few lawyers who have stood up to talk publicly or raise concerns that so many cornerstone legal principles have been breached.”

– Katie Ashby-Koppens

Katie Ashby-Koppens delivered a compelling and heartfelt speech that highlighted her dedication to justice and the legal battles she has fought over the past four years. Katie, a seasoned civil litigator with over 20 years of experience in New Zealand and Australia, has been at the forefront of high-profile cases concerning c-19 mandates and mRNA products. Currently, she is the solicitor on record for a Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) case against Pfizer in Australia and is actively engaging with governments to address issues related to the UN and WHO pandemic treaties.

Katie shared her internal struggle with continuing in the legal profession, expressing her disillusionment: “I have been so disappointed by so few lawyers who have stood up to talk publicly or raise concerns that so many cornerstone legal principles have been breached.”

In Australia, Katie has faced significant challenges with improper behaviour within the legal system, particularly in cases against the Therapeutic Goods Administration and pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Moderna. Despite setbacks and decisions that prevented evidence from being heard, she remains committed to fighting for justice and holding those in power accountable.

“Democracy is by the people, for the people. We need to reform democracy. We need to reclaim it,” she declared, inspiring participants to unite and persist in driving change and upholding justice.

“I’m a proud Anzac. I love Australia, I love New Zealand, and I will fight for humanity.”

Evidence

Evidence-based practice remained a cornerstone of the conference, with speakers advocating for transparent and honest scientific discourse.

Dr Emanuel Garcia’s Call to Action

Dr Emanuel Garcia, co-founder of NZDSOS, speaking in Auckland at NZDSOS Conference – 28 September 2024

“Fear was the fulcrum that allowed the government here in New Zealand and institutions like the Medical Council to ensure submission to their directives”

– Dr Emanuel Garcia

In the Auckland conference (also live-streamed), Dr Emanuel Garcia engaged the audience with a thought-provoking narrative, envisioning how different the outcome might have been if the government had chosen to respond with common sense instead of its actual course of action. He called for creating self-supporting communities to provide medical care and sustain communication if usual channels are blocked.

“Fear was the fulcrum that allowed the government here in New Zealand and institutions like the Medical Council to ensure submission to their directives,” Dr Garcia stated, examining the forces at play during the pandemic.

“We must not be seduced into believing that an appeal to the good conscience of governmental institutions will meet with success, or that justice will necessarily prevail in the court system which they operate.”

Despite the last few years, Dr Garcia noted a “remarkably positive feature of the covid saga has been a rending of the veils behind which our once venerable institutions have operated and an opening up of new vistas in medical care outside the big pharma stranglehold.”

David Charalambous’ on Communicating Our Differences

David Charalambous, founder of ReachingPeople.net, delivering an impactful presentation – 28 September 2024

“All I have to do is show someone a couple of facts and they will change their mind? I think it’s clear now that isn’t the case.”

– David Charalambous

David Charalambous provided a refreshing perspective on effective communication. Through empathy and compassion, he illustrated how to cultivate understanding and constructive dialogue, bridging divides and fostering unity.

“All I have to do is show someone a couple of facts and they will change their mind? I think it’s clear now that isn’t the case,” David said opening his talk.

He referenced the Milgram experiment to illustrate the influence of authority on behaviour, noting, “It shockingly turned out to be 67% of people would give an electric shock potentially fatal to another person just because someone in authority told them to do so.”

“Most of us probably now have heard of the Milgram experiment. We probably didn’t expect to live through one.”

He also discussed the Ash experiment, demonstrating how individuals often conform to group opinions. “We will conform to the group. Again, we’re very social creatures,” he noted, stressing the importance of independent thought in effective communication.

David Charalambous speaks in front of the well attended Auckland conference - 28 Septemember 2024

Practical stories from the pandemic illustrated his points vividly. One involved a behavioural scientist who, during the UK’s first lockdown, defused a confrontation over mask-wearing with an elderly lady through unexpected kindness, turning hostility into understanding. Another example from a vaccination centre showed how finding common ground with an upset father shifted their interaction from tension to mutual respect.

In discussing the Robbers Cave experiment, David highlighted how cooperation can overcome prejudice, reinforcing his message that empathy can dismantle barriers. He also emphasised the significance of ease in behaviour, stating, “Ease is the single most important factor in behaviour. Whatever it is that you want to do more of, make it easier.”

“We must learn to approach things differently and engage those who have yet to be reached,” he emphasised, highlighting the significance of empathetic connection. “It’s crucial to recognise that those who label us have often had their minds influenced without their awareness or consent. We are conditioned and educated to refrain from speaking up, but we can change that, and this is essential.”

“You can’t surpass love, compassion, and understanding. Acknowledging our collective addiction to being right is a hurdle we must overcome promptly.” He concluded with a powerful reminder: “Speaking up inspires others. How many of you have witnessed someone speaking out and found the courage to do the same?”

Empowering change

Chris Dekker at NZDSOS Conference 2024 in Auckland - 28 September 2024
Chris Dekker, a key figure in the establishment of new trade unions for teachers, nurses, and doctors in New Zealand, speaks at Empowering Change conference – 28 September 2024

Also at the NZDSOS Conference, Chris Dekker, General Manager of NZ Unions, delivered a passionate speech about the failings of traditional unions and the rise of an alternative movement focused on protecting workers without political interference. Drawing from his experience with Red Union in Australia, Chris highlighted the frustration many nurses, teachers, and doctors felt as their unions turned their backs on them during critical moments, particularly around vaccine mandates.

Chris emphasised that NZ Unions, which includes TPNZ (teachers), NPANZ (nurses), and NZMPS (doctors), was created to provide genuine representation free from political agendas. Unlike legacy unions that often prioritise external issues, NZ Unions is dedicated solely to improving pay and working conditions. With a service-based model, they offer collective bargaining, indemnity insurance, and legal support to frontline workers across New Zealand.

His speech resonated with the audience, many of whom had felt abandoned by their traditional unions. Chris’s message was clear: NZ Unions is here to fight for workers, offering an alternative that truly puts members first.

Empowering Change speakers and NZDSOS team in Auckland – 28 September 2024

Reflecting on the NZDSOS Conference 2024, it was inspiring to see the themes of Methods, Motivation, and Evidence unite, providing tools for advancing healthcare and societal change. The discussions will guide our efforts towards a more just and informed medical community. What is clear is the importance of unity, staying true to our convictions, and actions (big or small) taken by everyone in creating a future where medical freedom, informed choice and justice can thrive.

Dr Cindy de Villiers, co-founder of NZDSOS, in Auckland – 28 September 2024

Watch: Graham hoody closes empowering change

Graham Hood, host of NZDSOS Conference 2024 – 28 September 2024

Graham “Hoody” Hood is a former Qantas pilot who gained recognition for his bravery and moral character during the c-19 pandemic. Despite being told he would lose his job if he didn’t comply with vaccination mandates, Hoody stood firm and refused to be vaccinated. His stance was not only against vaccination but also against government tyranny, corporate self-interest, and bureaucratic decisions that were controversial and unconscionable.

In his closing speech, Hoody spoke with passion and heart, stirring the ANZAC spirit and calling for unity, courage, and resilience. He reminded the audience of the strength of standing together in the face of adversity and the importance of not succumbing to fear or control. His words resonated deeply, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

Hoody’s speech was a fitting conclusion to an event that had brought together a diverse group of people, all united by a shared desire for truth, freedom, and accountability. His message of hope and standing up for what is right was an empowering call to action that will no doubt inspire many long after the conference has ended.
