Who Will Speak Up For Our Suddenly Dying Young?

New Zealand’s medicines regulatory authority Medsafe appears to be reporting a number of deaths post-Pfizer vaccination to the VAERS database in the US.  It is not clear which cases get reported. 

There are a lot of details for some, and very few details for others.  Below is a table of the under-40-year-old, young New Zealanders who have been reported.  We note the reporting appears to be delayed and that all of these are deaths from 2021 or very early 2022.

We are aware that there are many more young Kiwis who have died from sudden, unexpected medical events in the past 3 years, many suspiciously close to a covid injection, who are not in this table. 

We are also aware that there are also many other middle-aged and older people whose deaths have been similarly reported to VAERS. 

Their deaths have not been officially recognised as related to vaccination by Medsafe either, with only four deaths after covid injection having been officially recognised. It is curious who has now made the decision to upload these deaths into VAERS.

In total 197 NZ deaths post-Pfizer covid vaccination have been reported to VAERS.  This is more than the number (185 for mono- and bi-valent Comirnaty) that is on Medsafe’s SMARS database which has replaced the Safety Reports from 2021 and 2022.

The VAERS ID number in the chart enables the use of the Med Alerts website.  This website, displaying the VAERS data from around the world, provides much more information for analysis than NZ’s Medsafe Safety Reports.

Case 1

For example, VAERS ID 1907935 contains the information below:

Write-up: Sudden death; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Consumer or other non HCP) from Regulatory Authority. Regulatory number: AEFI-A-043976 (RA Case Number).

A 25 year-old male patient received bnt162b2 (COMIRNATY), administration date 13Oct2021 (Batch/Lot number: unknown) as dose 1, single for covid-19 immunisation.

The patient’s relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: SUDDEN DEATH (death) with onset 18Oct2021 07:45, outcome “fatal”, described as “Sudden death”.

The patient date of death was 18Oct2021. The reported cause of death was sudden death.
It was not reported if an autopsy was performed. Additional information: It was an unconfirmed condition that caused him to die in his vehicle after a training run. The event outcome was reported as “Died- unrelated to Med”.

No follow-up attempts are possible; information about lot/batch number cannot be obtained. No further information is expected.; Reported Cause(s) of Death: Sudden death.

In contrast, the AEFI-A number associated with this person is missing from the NZ Medsafe line-listing that accompanied the Safety Reports so there is no NZ data available about him. 

New Zealanders wondering about vaccine safety would not know that a presumably fit and healthy (he was out for a training run) 25 yr old man died 5 days after his first vaccine and despite no cause of death being listed, someone has determined he “Died-unrelated to Med”. 

Really??  Fit, healthy 25-year-old just dies suddenly 5 days after an experimental medical product for no reason and we are expected to believe it is unrelated?

Case 2

Another example is VAERS ID 2089593 which has the following write up.  

Write-up: Sudden death; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Consumer or other non HCP) from Regulatory Authority. Regulatory number: AEFI-A-049633 ​​​​​​​(AEFI Case Number).

A 12 year-old female ​​​​​​​ patient received bnt162b2 (COMIRNATY), administration date 30Sep2021 (Batch/Lot number: unknown) as dose 1, single for covid-19 immunisation.

The patient”s relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: DEATH (death) with onset 05Oct2021 13:00, outcome “fatal”, described as “Sudden death”.

The patient date of death was 05Oct2021. The reported cause of death was “Sudden death”. It was not reported if an autopsy was performed. Clinical course: Sudden death due to unknown causes.

No follow-up attempts are possible; information about lot/batch number cannot be obtained. No further information is expected.; Reported Cause(s) of Death: Sudden death.

The AEFI-A number associated with this person in the Medsafe line listing provides different information: It says she is female, age 10-19, received dose 1, experienced ‘asthma’ and an ‘anaphylactic reaction’, and her reaction was reported in November 2021. 

It is not possible to know from the Medsafe report that she died 5 days after her first vaccination.  Anaphylaxis is usually an immediate event following introduction of an antigen.  It is the reason for the 15-30 min wait period after an immunisation, and it is very odd that anaphylaxis supposedly occurred 5 days after the event.  It would also be highly unusual for a 12-year-old to die of asthma.  It is interesting that the VAERS report does not mention either of these diagnoses, just sudden death.

Pharmacovigilance in New Zealand

There is no transparency and plenty of obfuscation around adverse events in New Zealand.

We DO NOT TRUST that Medsafe/CARM/MoH are carrying out their duties as regulators of medicines.  We have yet to see information that convinces us that a proper pharmacovigilance assessment is being conducted for New Zealanders dying in close proximity to covid vaccinations.

One family has shared with us their experience of trying to find answers following the death of their young, healthy loved one and discovering that no assessment had been done with regards to the role of the vaccine.  The full story is here but Chris James of Medsafe wrote:

“I can confirm that the COVID-19 Vaccine Independent Safety Monitoring Board (CV-ISMB) did not discuss Garrett’s case at the meeting it was presented.”

It is blatant statements such as these that have lead us to lose all trust in our regulators.  How can they state that pharmacovigilance is being undertaken while at the same time not looking cases that are presented to them.

Who are the dead New Zealanders?

We wonder who the people in the chart are, what their families have been told and what they understand about the post-mortem and coronial processes. 

Have their families been told their deaths have been reported to an offshore database related to post-vaccination events? 

Do they know that when a pharmacovigilance system is working properly, the medicine (vaccine) is assumed to be causal until proven otherwise? 

Have they asked Medsafe/CARM for the assessment that was undertaken?  Have they heard the stories of other New Zealanders in similar situations?

Who Will Stand Up for the Young People?

It is highly unusual for young people to experience medical events that cause them to die suddenly.  We are concerned that unless families ask questions and demand answers, tell their stories and speak to each other, the apparent maiming and killing of our children and young people will continue.
